Sustainably Minded

When we set out to create a tile collection, we know that beautiful design isn’t enough on its own. True innovation requires us to rethink the entire lifecycle of a product. Here is how we apply cutting-edge sustainability principles directly into the DNA of many of our tiles.

Materials

FACT tiles are made from (PET) felt that contains 60% pre-consumer recycled content. You can recycle 100% of your FACT products. Even our hardware is made of PET.

Design for Disassembly (DfD)

Design for Disassembly treats a building or product as a "material bank" rather than a permanent fixture. By utilizing interlocking tabs, our tiles can be easily installed, taken down, and reconfigured. When a space is ready for a redesign, the tiles aren't destined for the landfill. They can be effortlessly disassembled, cleanly separated, and fully recovered or repurposed.Almost-Zero-Waste Manufacturing.

Efficiency Through "Nesting" and Pattern Optimization

In product design, waste often happens before the product even leaves the factory floor. Zero waste design uses computational nesting to eliminate off-cuts. The striking, organic shapes of our tiles aren't just visually appealing. They are mathematically optimized. Before a single blade or laser touches our raw materials, advanced software strategically "nests" the tile profiles together on the manufacturing sheet like a perfectly solved puzzle. This hyper-efficient layout virtually eliminates negative space and off-cuts, ensuring that all material is utilized and factory-floor waste is stopped before it even starts.

Our uniquely compact, flat-pack shipping reduces waste and shrinks the carbon footprint of transporting FACT products to you.
