Richard Taylor

Richard Taylor investigates nature’s patterns across diverse disciplines (including architecture, art, bioengineering, neuroscience, and physics) with a focus on bio-inspired fractals.

He is the Director of Fractals Research LLC, a research company that develops innovative, interdisciplinary projects such as The ScienceDesignLab formed in 2018 with the mission to create science-informed, fractal designs for application to the built environment. The lab is driven by an international collaboration between the scientific team at Fractals Research in Eugene, USA, and the design team at 13&9 Design in Graz, Austria.

Peter Dahmen

Designer and paper artist Peter Dahmen, born in 1967, studied communication design at the University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund, Germany.

In his artistic works, he likes to focus on the process of transformation. Some of his works create the illusion of movement only through the interaction of light and shadow and by changing the viewer's angle of vision.

David Meckley

As an artist, David enjoys exploring the ability of two-dimensional graphics to fool the eye three-dimensionally. In his design collaboration with FACT, he is focusing on creating patterns that allow designers to create unique features utilizing standard products easily incorporated into spaces.

Jhane Barnes

Jhane Barnes is an American designer celebrated for her pioneering work in textiles, fashion, and industrial design. Renowned for blending art, science, and technology, Barnes is best known for her innovative use of fractals, mathematical algorithms, and computer-aided design to create stunning, intricate patterns that have revolutionized the design world.

FACT Design is best known for its innovative folding acoustic ceiling tiles and wall panels that enhance both the aesthetics and acoustics of interior spaces. Our products are designed in collaboration with renowned origami artists such as Peter Dahmen and Paul Jackson, allowing the tiles to ship flat and transform into three-dimensional forms upon installation.

This unique approach combines artistic creativity with practical functionality, making FACT Design’s solutions both visually appealing and effective in improving room acoustics. Our mission focuses on making great acoustics easy, affordable, and sustainable.
