Honeycomb is a collaboration with 13&9 design and Fractals Research.
The honeycomb tiles represent an innovative and visually striking approach to sound management within interior spaces. These tiles use fractal geometry and the structure of honeycombs found in nature, as a result of fractal-based design that combines functionality with aesthetic appeal.
Characterized by a pattern resembling a honeycomb, these tiles are intricately crafted to create a repeating geometric arrangement. The fractal nature of the design incorporates a self-repeating pattern at various scales, resulting in a visually mesmerizing and organic appearance which have the fractal qualities scientifically proven to reduce stress.
Please Note: As part of our commitment to zero-waste manufacturing, the concealed backing of these tiles may vary in color. We utilize 100% of our production runs, repurposing production seconds as structural backers. Because these backers are completely hidden upon installation, this variation has zero impact on the final aesthetic or structural integrity of your project.
Research shows that perceiving natural fractal patterns activates a stress-relief response in our bodies. By tapping into that natural response, Calm-Clouds supports a sense of calmness and concentration in your spaces.
Each pattern repeats every 8 tiles and is non-directional. The acoustic wall tile is designed with a beveled edge adding both dimensionality and modularity to the design. These tiles should be installed with a construction-grade adhesive specified by the contractor.
By embedding the light source directly behind the panels, the illumination transforms the geometric structure into a living canvas that shifts as you move through the room. The high-contrast backlighting catches the precisely cut edges of each tile's pattern, igniting them with a rich glow. This light blends softly with the texture of the acoustical felt proving that a wall engineered for quiet comfort can simultaneously wrap the space in a warm, glowing embrace.
